The Koncha-Zaspa area is located in the southern part of the city, and it is known for being the place where Ukraine’s political elite live. Do you know that it is the first state preserve in the country? Yes, in the 1920s, the territory was the first state preserve in the Ukrainian SSR.
The general area of the city is mainly situated along the Dnieper river. It consists mostly of woodland, while the northern part of the city includes the former settlement of Chapayivka. Which is perfect for building an amazing house, right?
About the Architect
The Grosvenor House in Koncha Zaspa is designed by a Ukrainian studio YODEZEEN architects. It is not any typical country house; it is a house with the most unusual surprises like a bed of majestic mature bonsai trees. The whole concept is visualized by YoDezeen Architects.
The team consists of two Principal architects Artem Zverev and Artur Sharf, and they’re also co-founders of the company. The main designers on the team are Liubov Tuzovskaya and Anna Fedorenko. They wanted to design a house that has all the modern elements but with a touch of nature.
The fabulous 3071.1 square meter house design features a vast double-height living room, a mesmerizing mirrored fireplace, a grand rock face TV wall, and of course, the most bizarre bed of majestic mature bonsai trees.
Layout Of The Grosvenor House
The master block in the layout is divided into three zones: Bedroom, Bathroom, and Wardrobe. All the interiors, including the decors, are kept in bright and warm shades. The main elements of this block include a nut tree, lattin, wonder carpet, marble, and nubuck.
All the parts are designed in such a way that it describes a peaceful connection with nature. That’s why small and big things like indoor trees and a bed of mossy rocks are placed so that they give the interior landscaping an ancient sense of belonging.
Rooms have dividers, bosomed ceiling TV, and an outdoor patio with a front garden, which makes them different from the rest of the house. There are massive windows that directly open to the green garden.
Many skylights have been also cut away the roof over a steel sided staircase, and there is also a spectacular walk-in wardrobe. The walk-in wardrobe also has skylights and veneers. Even the bathrooms are luxurious; they’re made of natural stone. Let’s talk more about them:
The Living Space
The living room is the brightest and the most unusual place that you can call “cozy” enough to be comfortable and stylish enough to break the record. Natural wood and rock faces are the main elements of it and also a true act of nature!
There is an L-shaped couch that forms a cozy sofa bed at one end. At the end of it, there is an adjoined side table, which offers a handy surface for a laptop. A large modern coffee table is placed in the center, which complements the elongated line of the contemporary sofa.
The entire room is covered with wooden ceiling panels, which creates a warm atmosphere. For the lighting, recessed track lights have been placed into the smooth plane, which provides evenly lighting in the vast room layout. Just behind the spectacular rock wall, a custom TV stand and a designer table lamp is placed.
The modern lighting gives a warm glow on the accent wall that features a tremendous rock face with a rugged texture. Between the two modern chairs, a tall and unique floor lamp is placed.
There is full floor to ceiling windows, which provide the feeling of nature when you look outside. As you enter this house, you can enjoy the surreal view of the falling sky. These windows beautifully create a connection between the garden and living area.
There is one more thing that attracts attention is the unique fireplace. This is not a regular one; it is super modern, which lays a mirrored volume across the width of the large living room.
It also lightly divides the space between a TV lounge and a conversational sitting room. Furniture like round shape swivel armchair and modern side tables are perfect for creating this contemporary setting. A light creamy rug is used to define the area, and it is also bringing out the fireplace’s light marble hearth.
Majestic Bonsai Trees
If you say to explain these trees in three words, my words will be: Frantic, fancy, inviting! The gorgeous rocks are applied in vertical tiles and columns to instill the sharp edge of modernity.
The most beautiful and dream part in the entire living room is the huge bonsai trees over the stairs! These magical trees appear more ancient and tell a totally different story. Overall lighting is put together by tall floor lamps, which gracefully border the sitting room on the other side of the open flame.
Another thing that is so eye-catching that you’ll not keep your eyes away from it is the magnificent Stairs! They are situated just beneath a glorious skylight. Especially some floor-to-ceiling steel rods have been installed. This draws attention to the fabulous height of the room as the living room has a double-height as compared to any living space.
If you look from the side view, the staircase’s angular steps will appear like it is suspended in midair with the steel rods pouring like thundering tropical rain onto the bonsai garden. The even distribution of natural light makes this place magical.
The Cooking Area
Talking about the cooking area, aka kitchen, is another luxurious place to look at. This is located at the back of the living room. The luxe marble kitchen arrangement is further extended with a natural wood dining island.
But there is one secret in the kitchen, what is it? One of the marble walls holds the secret. Yes, it may look like a normal wall to everyone else, but these elegantly veined white panels can slide back, and there is a small nook for the art kitchen appliances.
The kitchen also includes a square-shaped island that accommodates sociable six kitchen bar stools. A modern chandelier is placed, which adds a unique focal point and looks very impressive.
A giant wood dining table is placed to bring the nature element. It has a beautiful wood grain pattern in its center. Lovely Taupe dining chairs with natural timber legs perfectly complement the table.
A set of three linear chandeliers hang across a twelve place dining set in the luxury eating room.
The Lounge Area
A small lounge has been intentionally made between the kitchen and the formal dining room. A chic settee and a set of round nesting coffee tables are placed, and they are adding metallic notes to the entire neutral decor. From small conversations to the long evening tea talks, this place can be used in many ways.
Let’s talk about the bedrooms, which are an important part of any house. Here a platform bed is used, which is decorated with cozy brown accent pillows and a matching throw dress.
A lovely extended headboard is fitted with reading lights in its wings, which goes well with gorgeous bedroom pendant lights.
The light grey bench is placed at the end of the bed, which blends quietly with the bed’s light upholstery.
There is also a small sitting area in the bedroom. It includes one spacious and comfy grey couch and two lounge chairs in earthy tones.
A small interesting center table is used, which has two levels, adding a contemporary touch to the place.
A walk-in wardrobe is everyone’s dream, right? So the designers include a breathtaking walk-in wardrobe. This skylit walkway stretches off into the treetops, and moreover, this is flanked by light-reflective glass cabinets. Amazing right?
When you pass through this colossal glass corridor, you’ll find a tasteful vanity chair at the end. It is placed right in front of a modern vanity table to look in the mirror.
Where is the place to store all the accessories? Don’t worry; there are open shelves to place the sophisticated array of hat boxes. Also, accessory trays are displayed in a stylish manner that populates the shelves of the glass-fronted wardrobes.
Even the bathroom of this house is luxurious and grand. Yes, just look at the pictures above!
The master bathroom is full of mirrors and glass. This causes the outdoor trees and greenery to reflect in the mirrors, making this place calm and tranquil.
The bathroom features natural stone walls and delightful vanity lights that fall over a marble and Lattin vanity.
Expensive tinted glasses are fixed from floor to high ceiling to construct an impressive shower enclosure.
Extra Elements And Interior Decors
Earthy brown accents and wooden elements have been everywhere used in the house in various places. The reason is to build warmth in each area of the spacious home.
For example, brown accent chairs have been matched with accent cushions over on the couch. In comparison, metal rod chair frames look really fantastic with the towering steel balustrades of the unique staircase design.
Magnificent windows are also one of the main parts of this residence. At various places, eye-catching sand wall arts are used to bring in culture and fluid form. Simultaneously, a few things are kept simple such as a glass coffee table set with decorative glass vessels.
The beautiful Grosvenor House in Koncha-Zaspa is a gem in the architecture field. With an elegant, luxurious, and mysterious design, it will be surely one of the world’s famous futuristic buildings.
